Day 1 of “I went totally overboard with my schedule and I should be WORKING INSTEAD but I wanna do this so fuck y’all” aka Sormik week.
Theme for day one is “Elysia— Innocence/Beginnings“, so of course I’m jumping on the “you can never have enough baby Sormiks” bandwagon. Anyway I just had to decide which AU I’m going for. AND YOU GUESSED IT.

Since large part of the appeal for me of their entire relationship is the fact that they’re childhood friends, the first liberty from Andersen’s fairytale I took was making Sorey and Mikleo first meet as little kids, even if they can’t really grow up with each other. (also please, how can you not love baby Sormiks?)
The idea behind this absolutely-plot-unrelated little thingy is that little prince Sorey gets his first flute from his mum and makes it a habit to play at night by the sea so nobody hears him practice. Very early on, he accidentally drops the flute into the sea and tries to find it, but he can’t dive long and deep enough. He can’t play a bit yet, but the noise has nevertheless attracted little Meebo’s attention, who retrieves his flute for him. And that’s how they meet (and make it a frequent thing from now. Also at daytime whenever they can manage to escape their worried mums). Next time they meet, Sorey brings a book along and reads little Mikleo stories to thank him. Mikleo is delighted and wants to learn more, so Sorey eventually teaches him how to read. Since the flute hasn’t survived the diving accident, Mikleo teaches him to play a seashell flute in return (Selene also gets him a new regular flute, but Sorey still feels guilty, so his new friend tries to cheer him up). Swimming lessons are probably also a thing. Gotta learn from the best.

I’m doing my very best right now to make something for day 6 and hopefully day 3, if I can manage also 7 or 8. I’d love to do all the other days as well, but it will be delayed by days or weeks, obviously.
Y’all wonderful and I wish I had Hermione Granger’s fancy time reversal clock thing so I could do much more fanart, more elaborate fanart AND work.

Okay maybe I should try to talk less and do more art for the rest of Sormik week, sorry, I’ll be on my way *sniffs*
